Najia Siddiqi is a reading specialist with a passion for teaching. She uses a multi-sensory, concept based, Orton-Gillingham approach to provide educational therapy to children and adolescents with dyslexia and other learning disabilities to improve their literacy skills and achieve their academic potential. Najia ensures struggling readers build a solid foundation in decoding, encoding, comprehension and writing abilities. Najia’s students receive highly individualized, tailored lessons, often involving games to make the lesson engaging and enjoyable.
Najia received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, majoring in child development and psychology. She is trained and certified as an Associate O-G practitioner from the Orton Gillingham Academy in the United States. Najia is also qualified through the International Dyslexia Association.
In addition to teaching children, Najia continues to attend seminars and conferences to keep her skills and knowledge up to date with the latest research on evidence-based teaching practices in the field of literacy. She also provides workshops to parents, teachers and schools to raise awareness about dyslexia and the Orton-Gillingham approach.
